Whaleyville Boulevard near Great Fork Road
Whaleyville Blvd, (i.e. Route 13) Once you approach this area, Slow down if you are headed South towards the Town of Whaleyville / towards the State of N.C. The speed limit changes from 55 to 35mph with plenty of Hwy Markings, including a Yellow Flashing Sign, but you can easily forget and then you are ticketed further down the road in the town. Local Police like to hang around the area of the fire station and convenience store.
State Route 58 near Suffolk Weigh Station
Route 58 in the area of the Suffolk Weigh Station, east and west bound lanes. Local police and state police frequently operate Stationary Radar in the area, the strip of road commonly referred to as the Six Lanes by police is surrounded by the Great Dismal Swamp and many, many trees and really deep ditches that will swallow a tractor-trailer, has a proven history of one of the Deadliest Highways in Hampton Roads! And if you are headed into the City of Chesapeake, (East Bound, on Rt 58) watch out there too! The local police sit around the city line to catch the remaining ones from Suffolk!
US Highway 10 near Sac Point Road
Godwin Blvd in the area of Sac Point Road, not uncommon to see local police using Moving and Stationary Radar and Lidar. Two curves in a short distance where local police can easily hide; this is also an area where many traffic fatalities have occurred. Speed limit is 55. Please travel safely!
State Highway 164 near Interstate 664
VA 164 passes into Suffolk right before the College Drive exit. As 164 EB passes under College Drive overpass and curves to the right, there is often a police car waiting for speeders. This is right before the on-ramp to I-664. Enforcement is not strict and I suspect they are trying to get reckless drivers (75+ in a 55 zone). Many cars pass going 65-70 MPH without getting pulled.
