Tysons Corner, Virginia Speed Traps

After you pass through the .50 toll booth, you will see signs for the Wolf Trap exit. Just after you pass this exit, you may get popped by a State Trooper from the left side of the road. He sits at a point where the tall jersey walls jut out to the left, leaving a nice little pocket for them to wait. You won’t see him until it’s too late. When you see the bridge over 267 going into Wolf Trap, slow down! I have seen Fairfax County Motorcycle cops with 3 or 4 cars pulled over at a time. Speeding by here, I would say would net you about a 60% chance of getting a ticket at ANY time of the day. Morning rush hour, goes up to 80%. Sneaky!

I have seen motorcycle officers just after you pass through the Fast Toll lanes. I’m not sure what they were doing, but they were conceiveably pulling people over for speeding through the lanes. If you have a ‘Smart Tag’ you signed an agreement to drive through the lanes at 10mph. Too bad that 99% of people who have one, blow through these lanes at 60+ mph! I slowed down to 50 mph and went through and did not get pulled over. However, there were 3 cars on the side of the road when I drove by. If I hadn’t seen them, I would’ve stomped on my brakes (instinctively) and probably would’ve gotten rear-ended.Be warned!
