Between Atlantic Ave and Birdneck Rd. This four land road is 25 mph for a mile and one/half even though it looks like the speed limit ought to be 45mph

Princess Anne Rd (new section near courthouse)

Virginia Beach, VirginiaDec 27, 20130 Comments

The city just completed the East bound section of Princess Anne heading towards the court house. I’ve lived here for 22 years and I would normally see a car pulled over every now and then as the speed decreases from 55-50-45-35-25.

However the road is no longer a two lane road but a very new divided four lane road. The speed still decreases and few people are decreasing speed and a lot of the traffic is going 55 down the whole road right up the last light by the courthouse.

Tonight at 7pm four cars were pulled over. This is not only a speed trap it’s a cop training ground.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel — entire 21 mile length.

Virginia Beach, VirginiaSep 14, 20110 Comments

The Bridge Tunnel is its own Municipal Government with its own Police Force. Not much for them to do but write tickets. Those pull outs aren’t for disabled vehicles they are for writing tickets. They use radar from their cars and will stand near a tunnell entrance with hand held radar. There is no where to turn off the road (except the bay or the ocean) so when they get you, they got you. They do help by posting those automatic "your speed is" signs at both ends of the bridge.

Indian River Rd at Bridlepath Lane

Virginia Beach, VirginiaAug 01, 20110 Comments

This is the 35 mph section of Indian River off North Landing. People are ready to speed up to 45, or have not slowed down to 35 yet. They sit behind the tree line, just back far enough so that you cannot see them.
