N.B. I-5 just south of exit 250

Bellingham, WashingtonApr 26, 20100 Comments

Cruisers are often seen with a radar just south of this location, and several more waiting either on or just past the N.B. on ramp at Exit 250 to pull over the speeders. Having lived here for 20+ years, you tend to notice these things!

North of Lake Sammamish Exits

Bellingham, WashingtonApr 06, 20100 Comments

Northbound I-5 Coming from Skagit Valley the speed is reduced to 60 from 70 as you enter the Lake Sammamish S-curves. This change is on a downhill slop. There are 2 Heavily Used trap spots in this stretch before you hit Fairhaven/Bellingham exits. It is best to cruise control all the way into Bellingham as they ticket you for 5+ no matter what. They believe you’re a visitor too lazy to fight it. First one is 1/4 mile after the speed change, they can see you cresting the hill before you see them at the first S-turn to the left. Second is after the Sammamish exit near the last 2 curves before the Fairhaven exit. The curves start to climb slightly and that is where they wait to see you before you see them.

Ellis Street near Potter or Gladstone Streets

Bellingham, WashingtonApr 30, 20080 Comments

Coming down the long hill the speed limit is 25, very easy to space out for a few seconds and get too fast, motorcycle cop sitting at the cross street got the guy in front of me, could have been me, too. Didn’t realize it was 25 on a 4 lane.

Chuckanut Road near Whatcom/Skagit County Line

Bellingham, WashingtonApr 23, 20080 Comments

Two staters have been seen on both sides of the county line enforcing speed limits, particularly motorcycles. They have also been seen by chuckanut manor on the south end, after the straights, but before the turns.
