SR 543 at D Street
This is the last intersection in Blaine before 543 reaches the Canadian border. The posted speed limit is 40 mph… this is a long, straight road populated moderately by truck traffic. You’d better not be doing 43, or else! Look out for the occasional Washington State Patrol cruiser parked on D Street, east of 543, looking for their next victim. Especially beware if you have out-of-state plates. Just when you think you are home free…
I5 near Border
Before border crossing, speed limit drops from 70 to 30 in about 1-2 mile span. Over final crest, a WSP guy with a K-band run will clock you. Hit the brakes when you approach this crest!
Semiahmoo Parkway
Just before you hit the beach area of this parkway there is a speed trap. The town of Blaine is feeding off tourist going to the Semiahmoo Lodge. Speed posted is 25 MPH.
