South end of Chuckanut Dr., just before train tracks

Blanchard, WashingtonMay 28, 20100 Comments

The troopers park at the west (south) end of the Chuckanut Manor Resturant, partially hidden by the dense trees, aiming their radar guns at cars rounding the curve as they come off Blanchard Mountain heading south; or coming onto Chuckanut Dr. (SR 11) heading north. The posted speed limit is 40 mph in this section, and is easily exceeded because the limt northbound is 55 mph south of the railroad tressel. South bound Chucknut is the end of a section perfect for "spirited driving," and the trap is hidden from view because the road curves (south to east) at the point the troopers aim their guns.
