Hobart, Washington Speed Traps
North bound on the Hobart Ravensdale Rd. past the Yellow Submarine. They clock you coming down the last hill coming into Hobart. The speed limit changes from 55 to 40 coming up this hill and they get you as you crest it. This spot is monitored 4 to 5 times a year during morning commute. This is a regular commuter route and they get a Lot of hits when they’re there. They have up to 5 cops flagging drivers down. (They let the State’y who commutes with us alone!)
they wait at bottom of hill sometimes on right shoulder and sometimes in median also where highway goes from two lanes down to one very hard to spot they also use spotter car on overpass. Usually multiple cars working as a team.
WSP troopers collect at two places near this interchange and tag team writing tickets. Southwestbound traffic should watch for troopers both under overpass immediately west of the exit and also for troopers at the top of next hill. Northeastbound traffic should watch for troopers again at the same underpass immediately before the exit and then also for troopers waiting on the on-ramp that runs parallel to SR-18 as it crosses Issaquah-Hobart Road.
Enforcement in this area is frequent during high travel times for this corridor (i.e. weekends leading up to Memorial Day, weekends before and after WSU goes on Spring Break).
