As you start heading West up Reith Road (just after you pass the first turn off) when you come around that bend, the Kent PD motorcycle cops like to sit on that little nook. I swear that when the concrete was poured, they left that little flat spot for the cops on bikes to sit in. It is 35 MPH through there. As you head East you are going down hill, so don’t be afraid to ride those brakes.

South 196th Street near Between West Valley Highway and Russell Road

It is an industrial area. Motorcycle cops like to hide in the parking lots of businesses and get people. We see people get pulled over all the time in this area.

This road is also known as James Hill. This is a steep hill with a maximum speed limit of 35mph. Police are often seen patrolling the hill or set up in at a stationary position toward the bottom of the hill.

228th Street near Green River Road

It is located at the base of a new connector road with greater than a 6% grade to it. The posted speed limit is 40 and to maintain that it is imperative that you ride your brakes heavily all the way down the hill. At the base, just as you round a cuve the speed limit suddenly changes to from 40 to 35 and I have regularly seen police vehicles and motorcycles there catching people who can’t maintain the braking needed to keep the speed down. Poor planning before construction and one heck of a grade to the hill.

Motorcycle cops will usually hang out near the entrance to MVCC. There’s a hill between it and SE 240th and they’ll clock you going either direction.
