NE 38th PL Street near The Keg Restaurant

Kirkland, WashingtonApr 09, 20080 Comments

Cops will sit in the Keg parking lot or at the entrance of the Yarrow Bay office park. The street is 25 mph but it feels like a 35mph street, so watch your speed. It is a great shortcut between Lake WA Blvd and 108th.

Forbes Creek Drive near Market Street

Kirkland, WashingtonJan 30, 20080 Comments

Forbes Creek Drive, as it travels West from Market Street is a winding road bordered by trees (a mini-forest). On the other side of these trees are residences and a huge Apartment Complex. The speed limit is 25 mph, and police cars frequently sit at the end of the trees, hidden by a side street, and catch cars as they move into the residential area. Be sure to slow to no more than 30 mph as you leave the trees, or you will be ticketed. They’re there at all times of day and night.

85th Avenue near 3rd and 6th Streets Street

Kirkland, WashingtonSep 04, 20070 Comments

Kirkland is known for its rather large and expensive police force it is 1 officer to 20 people. To pay these salaries there are a lot of speed traps including the worst. Going west on 85th street leaving 405 you come to to lights one at 6th ave and one at 3rd. What makes this unique is that they are about a block or so apart and both have radically fast yellow to red change times. Roughly about three seconds so by the time you hit the intersection and it starts to change you are done. To ensure this is a large group of officers that write tickets there all day long. If you slam on the breaks you end up in the middle of the intersection and if you run it you will be cited either way. FYI Average of 10 to 15 tickets a day.

Interstate 405 near Between 70th and 85th Streets

Kirkland, WashingtonMay 25, 20070 Comments

Mostly enforced on Northbound I-405 due to the curve of the road and a concrete divider that the State Patrol can hide behind. Vehicles are headed downhill here so speeds tend to be high and give the police an excuse.
