New York Avenue near Lincoln Avenue

Lakewood, WashingtonMar 10, 20080 Comments

As soon you come off Pac Hwy onto New York Ave, just crossing the bridge, there’s a patrol car parks in front of the utility transformer of sort, sitting in the driveway. It’s a good way for officer to catch speeders coming across the bridge or coming around the corner coming from McChord Drive that turns into New York Ave.

If you past the white stop line, the cam will take pics. I have seen it happen many times with drivers running thru red lights and passing the white lines.

South Tacoma Way near Halcyon Boulevard

Lakewood, WashingtonFeb 24, 20081 Comments

There is a black unmarked patrol car, lights off waiting for speeders next to the Lakewood Park and Drive Construction sight. He is typically alongside the lane heading towards the intersection of South Tacoma Way and Bridgeport, roughly 300 yards from the intersection its-self. Other times, a marked patrol car can be spotted in the parking lot of an abandoned pawnshop just across the street. I have seldom seen them both at the same time, and have seen them pull over speeders and various small infractions. It is currently in a construction zone, so you can expect the fines to be double.

It’s not a speed trap but it is photo enforced. If you run the red light at this intersection you WILL get a ticket in the mail.

Holman Road near Military Road

Lakewood, WashingtonAug 23, 20070 Comments

Driving North or South from Military to Lake Louise Dr. There is a sign that posts 20 mph, 5am to 7pm every day, only for a short distance and then goes up to 25 mph for short distance and then drops back to 20 mph. All year long, despite school being out for the summer.
