Seattle, Washington Speed Traps
520 bridge westbound
As your driving westbound on 520, right before 520 ends and splits towards I5 N/S, two motorcycle cops sit on the shoulder (next to the on ramp / just after the bus stop).
Columbian Way and Spokane St.
Heading up hill on Columbian Way there is an exit at Spokane St. where drivers turn around to go back down the hill. There is a no left turn sign there but difficult to make out because of additional signage located there. Cops park across the street then walk out into Columbian way to motion the offending drive over. I noted two cars making the same mistake as I did while he was writing me out a ticket.
Eastbound 520 just before the Montlake Blvd. overpass
State trooper parked on the grass on South side of the highway, Friday morning at 9:15 AM. Fairly easy to spot but this stretch of highway is limited to 50 mph, so be careful.
On 5th Avenue NE between NE 90th and NE 95th
School Zone traffic camera placed just as you come to the top of the hill on 5th Avenue NE. 20 MPH speed limit. Just about everyone gets nailed. $198 fine.
Greenwood Ave. N. at 130th N., Broadview School
A cop is standing, holding a radar gun, after parking a motorcycle in a driveway on the east side of Greenwood Ave. N. just past the school parking lot, heading north. They are pulling over anyone going over 20 mph even though you are past the school and it’s not clear that you are still in the school zone. As soon as you leave the school zone, the speed is 35 mph. Watch out!
