Snohomish, Washington Speed Traps
Totem Falls Elementary
Motorcycle Sheriff standing with radar gun, regular speed limit is 25 but he is hiding on the center median, right after the speed limit becomes a 20 mph due to a school zone. Speed trap is if you are coming from Gold Creek/Willis Tucker Park
On 3 Lakes Rd between 147th Ave SE & 139th Ave SE
Cops sit off of the side road out of normal sight range about middle of downhill and radar cars as they start to come down the hill. You had better be at the speed limit (35) the whole way down the hill. This is very hard to do because the hill going down is so steep that even if you are braking it is almost impossible to maintain 35 mph. Total revenue maker….
Rt 9, Southbound, just past 176th St.
North of this intersection, the speed limit is posted at 55, for the 2-3 lane (road width varies) undivided road. Once you pass the intersection, you enter the newly widened stretch, which is 4 lanes, divided. The speed DROPS to 45 mph. There do not appear to be any “reduce speed ahead” signs, just a couple of signs with the 45 mph posted. The cops patrol back and forth along this stretch, pulling cars over continually.
188th -around Cathcart Elementary School & Parking lot
Unmarked cars will be parked in the parking lot and the officer will be out with a radar gun standing behind a tree. Speed limit is 35mph and about 200 ft after that sign they have a 20 mph sign. There is not enough time to slow down before reaching the 20mph sign and they will get you in between signs at 30 something mph. Keep in mind it’s a school zone, they will GET You big ($271+) 🙁
US2 and SR9 Junction (Several spots)
Both on-ramps to US-2, snowplow/s and depository access road on SR-9 north of junction, top of hill at electrical substation access road on Bunk Foss Road.
