Snohomish, Washington Speed Traps
Lowell Snohomish River Road west bound.
Heading toward Lowell / Everett the speed limit is 45mph. A speed limit sign indicates a reduction to 30mph, followed by another 30mph sign. On the right side of the road on a gravel pull off past the second sign sits an unmarked police car. If you aren’t going 30mph past the second sign, you’re busted. There is a sharp left hand turn ahead and you may be told you are driving too fast for conditions on the "slick highway".
Marsh Road between Hiway 9 and Seattle Hill Road
Unmarked cars and motorcycle cops park in the driveways at Maltby Tree Nursery, then stand and radar West and Eastbound traffic. Since they are difficult to see, and hidden by curves, they get lots of "customers".
Machias Rd & Three Lakes Road
Snohomish County Sheriff sits on shoulder of Northbound South Machias Rd. Nights, in a dark unmarked squad. Half way between Three Lakes and the old Meat packing plant (new fire training center.) At the end of the catch basin, up against the fence. There is a slight rise if you are southbound. They are hidden by tall weeds if you are northbound. They use radar. The reflectivity of the speed limit sign for southbound traffic is subdued.
Dubuque Rd & 127th Ave SE
The cop will be at the bottom of this hill, near the bridge, sometimes hiding his car on 127th Ave, the speed limit is 30mph, and if u coast you will go 50-60 so drive a manual and put it into 3rd-2nd gear, or hit the brakes
Orchard Ave & Gem St
The simple driver would think of Orchard Ave, as a short cut compared to taking normal Maple Ave, coming from 3 lakes or machias road, but cops have this road pinned down, and will sit behind trees stand at the top of the hill and pull you over if you go 30mph+, speed limit is 25.
