State Highway 291 near Nine Mile Road

Spokane, WashingtonJul 04, 20070 Comments

As you come into Spokane County near the landfill the speed drops from 50 to 35, there is a sign stating reduced speed ahead, which changes exactly at the landfill. Usually a motorcycle cop or unmarked patrol car. They sit in 3 different locations, First directly across from the landfill in the road leading into the housing community, Second farther down in the next road into the housing community as you go around the curve, Third spot they sit behind the tree in the gas station as you go around the curve. Speed limit is 35 in all of these areas. Know several that have been pulled over & ticketed and have seen many receiving tickets.

Cascade Street near Division Street

Spokane, WashingtonJun 19, 20070 Comments

On Cascade street between Division and Wall it is posted 25mph, after you cross Division the street changes names from Cascade to Lincoln Rd and the speed limit changes to 35mph. There is often a Sheriff car and or motorcycle (or both!)waiting — especially during high traffic hours. As this is one of the main routes to and from the north side Costco, traffic can be heavy and pickings are usually very good. They tend to park/hide on the north side of Cascade on a side street — very often in the shade of a tree.

Interstate 90 near Sullivan Street

Spokane, WashingtonJun 12, 20072 Comments

Enforcement starts East of the Sullivan Overpass where the speed limit is 70. When wx is suitable, WSP aircraft (verified by my scanner) are using VASCAR to alert all types of marked and unmarked WSP vehicles/motorcycles with information about speeding, following too close, "agressive driving". The WSP is putting Tons of resources into this "project". Most patrolled areas are from Argone East to Mile Maker 296.
