This is a favorite for WSP to sit on the bridge and nail people coming either North or South bound. They use both laser and radar here but it’s mainly the laser that gets you. The profile of their cruiser blends in perfect with the guardrails and they enforce both sides of I-5 with a pursuit car at the on ramps.

They sit one exit south of 212 (Stanwood/Camano Island) on the overpass and gun the southbound traffic. It’s 70 here but most people are driving about 80. Keep it to 75 and they leave you alone. They are there every day without fail.

On Southbound I-5, just North of the Stanwood exit there is a permanent WSP crossover lane. There are often multiple car traps set up. The location is such that you don’t see the cars until you’re almost on top of them. Extra warning: WSP motorcyle cops always work in teams in this area. If you see one, there’s another one close by.
