H Street near State Route 543

The speed trap is one police car on the south side of H Street Road just west of the intersection with SR 543. If, upon coming northbound to the intersection of SR 543 and H Street Road, just before the US/Canada border, you decide to use the alternative border at Lynden, you will turn right onto H Street Road. Just beyond that is a 25 mph speed limit sign which, in my opinion, is too close to the intersection for a confused tourist to notice. I didn’t notice it but was travelling at less than the 45 mph posted for SR 543. Still, just beyond the intersection I noticed the police car on the south side of H Street Road and wondered why it left its spot and appeared to be following me. I was given a $164 US speeding ticket for going 7 mph over the 25 mph speed limit. Later I noticed there was another 25 mph sign in the distance to the east but it was barely visible behind some branches. I discovered the earlier sign after I was given the ticket and turned around to investigate whether, indeed, there was a sign at all. A speed trap and trapped I was. Tourists beware.
