US Highway 60 near Kanawha Terrace
US Route 60 through the former town of Jefferson, between Spring Hill (an area of South Charleston) and the stoplight at Wendy’s, intersection of US60 and Kanawha Terrace. Heavily patrolled by county sheriff’s deputies, there’s a sheriff detachment near the Wendy’s. Patrolled during am/pm rush hours. Several bars on road segment, so heavy night/weekend enforcement.
State Route 60 East/West
The town of Jefferson, which is between St. Albans and Spring Hill has become notorious as a speed trap. This area has a center turn lane that runs the length of the town. Police will sit at either end of the town, at Value City Furniture, Venture Lanes Bowling Alley, Moose Lodge, and have been spotted parked in the center turn lane with their radar on. Harrassment occurs at rush hour AM/PM and during the night and you don’t have to have out-of-state plates.
