The Cops will sit in the WVU Creative Arts Center Lot or across the street at the entrance to Krepps Park. Be careful of the 35 MPH in this area, especially travelling up towards the Coliseum.

They will sit along Collins Ferry before the AM rush, during lunch, and after 5PM. The Morgantown Police Dept. will sit in places that can’t be seen by drivers. Be careful of the 25 MPH limit, they will bust you for going 30!

Just past the WVU football stadium if traveling downtown, there is a blinking yellow light warning of strict enforcement of 25 MPH speed limit. I frequently notice 2 city cop cars within 100 feet both trying to bust someone. Don’t do 26 MPH, only 25 because they’ll bust you hard.

The WV state troopers usually are set up at the bottom of a long downgrade that’s zoned for 70 mph. I emphasize "long" because (1) it IS long, and (2) it’s extremely easy to get well over the limit by the time you get to the bottom. It’s also a racket: the trooper will write you up for doing 79, and if you’re not local, you have to call a Morgantown number to acknowledge receipt of the ticket, etc. That call goes into an automated menu, for which one of the pre-programmed choices is exactly the violation for which you were cited. In other words, it’s a classic revenue machine intended to hit the non-locals for about $150 a pop.
