Pipestem, West Virginia Speed Traps

Rt 20 is a major byway from Hinton to Princeton. The speedlimit is 55 elsewhere on the road unless you pass a school zone. It drops to 30 when you get to the town of Athens. The speed trap is well before this. You are cruising along at 55 and suddenly the speed limit drops to 40 for no apparent reason. From the sign that says speed limit 40, it’s barely 400 yards away you can see the next sign saying 55. If you blink, you will miss the speed limit 40 sign and because you can see the speed limit 55 sign from the 40 sign, you just keep right on cruising. Cops will sit at the convenient store parking lot that is in between the two signs.
