Using roving patrols as well as several parked sites (parking lots across from the BP /7-11, the driveway beside the post office, the old Harden School and the old Exxon station) they are sitting and watching and running radar. Be cautious by the college and Fort New Salem (both on University Drive) as all but one (only one of four remains) of the old speed limit signs (40 mph closer to U.S. Route 50, down to 25 mph as you approach the hard left turn and past the college)are missing. Plus you have to work against the 2 to 4 % grade drop, too. When they pulled me over in September 2007– claiming 35 in 25, my speedo was at 31-32. Older Crown Vic’s and older equipment may make true reading higher. When I asked to see the locked-in reading, officer claims that it "cleared" itself when he re-opens his door. Kind of makes "discovery of the facts" for any appeal in their own ‘city court’ impossible, when the evidence that they use, "cleared off" their equipment. Fines for eight miles over the limits are about $110 TO $123.00
