Vienna, West Virginia Speed Traps

Police often sit in the Parking Lot of St. Michael Church catching folks going North and South on Grand Central (Route 14). Speed is 35 through that area.

The trap is in a school zone(flashing lights, posted signs), with a posted speed of 15mph when the school is taking up or dismissing for the day. It usually runs from 7:30am to 8:15am and 3:00pm to 3:45pm. The cop sits in the center lane(turning lane) of five-lane Grand Central Avenue. He is in plain sight with his lights on and flashing. The primary purpose of the trap is to get people to slow down before entering the zone, but the cop WILL ticket you if you go through the zone without slowing down. The cop’s presence is so obvious that if you get caught, you have no one to blame but yourself!
