When your coming off the bridge the speed limit is 25 and cops hide on the other side of the Smoker Friendly on the left. Be careful.

State Route 14 near Interstate 77

Patrols are posted entering and exiting the small City of Williamstown, WV just off I-77 which is the first WV Exit coming South from Ohio. Inbound speed limits are reasonable however; Outbound speed limits just after a stop light and opening onto a rural open roadway heading South on WV Rt 14 toward Boaz and Parkersburg are unrealistic. You will be ticketed for 40 mph in a 35 mph zone. Also, you can see a 55 mph sign posted from the last traffic light but you better wait until you reach the sign to speed up…..I was ticketed for 50 in that zone at night with absolutely no other traffic and good weather. The officer was stationed at the Outbound city limit sign and used hand held radar.

Route 14 and Highland Avenue

There is one officer in the town who is trying to make a name for himself by pulling over as many people as he can. He is even writing tickets for one mph over the limit.
