Beloit, Wisconsin Speed Traps
Portland Avenue near Third Street
Beloit Police like to get people coming down Portland Ave across 4th St. Also, coming across the bridge. Its tough to drive the speed limit there because you are coming down hill.
Pleasant Street near Angel Musem/Brown Swiss
Beloit Police will sit in the Brown Swiss parking lot or the Angel Museum parking lot getting people coming south on Pleasant St. (HWY 51)
Interstate 39/90 near County Trunk S and 11
On Interstate 39/90 Between Beloit, Wisconsin and Janesville, Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin State Troopers will set up on Freeway overpasses and run radar. The Most common place to see this is on the overpass for "County S" (Shopiere Rd.) and closer to Janesville at the Highway 11 (Rock County Airport, University of Wisconsin/Blackhawk Tech) exit. The officer will sit either on the bridge, or on one of the entrance ramps to the freeway. If he is on the bridge, you can often see him, but if he is sitting on the entrance ramp, you’re screwed since you will not see him because he is behind you.
This is right at the Wisconsin/Illinois Border, so the police are taking advantage of the relatively leniant enforcement on the Illinois Tollway, and are nailing motorists as they cross into Wisconsin.
Highway 51 right after the Rock County Airport
The cops sit in that parking lot of that little building right after the curve. YOu can hardley see them. Be careful!
