Grand Rapids, Wisconsin Speed Traps

There is a 4-way stop at the intersection of South Park Road and 64th Street South. The Town of Grand Rapids PD parks on the west side of the intersection just off the road where it’s nice and dark (it’s a dead-end area on that side). With the lights off you cannot easily spot the patrol car even though there is a street light right there.

The speed limit on South Park Road is 25MPH (residential neighborhood) but people regularly drive 35-40MPH down that road. Many people also "blow through" the stop signs on South Park Road when turning onto 64th Street South and also when leaving the South Park Campground entrance. I’ve personally seen several near collisions from this.
