One State Patrol squad positions itself on an overpass and uses instant-on radar or laser to determine the speed of vehicles travelling northbound on I-39. It then radios to another squad located on the onramp, ready to pull over the speeder. They have used the overpass/onramps for both Coloma and Hancock.
