Got stopped in Johnson for Speeding. First time in 50 years! No way will they give a break to anyone! Big money if you get stopped. Most of the coppers are okay but a few lost all my respect. Be carefull & stay safe.

Ok, so basically anywhere inbetween the Sullivan/Ixonia exit and the Lake Mills exit there is almost always at least one Jefferson County sheriff on that stretch. I make the trip from Milwaukee to Madison about four times a week and they are always there. There is an exceptionally grumpy sheriff that is on a motorcycle in that area. He is often parked on the shoulder of the road and has almost gotten me twice (took the guy in front of me), and he successfully got me once. Anything less then ten over and you should be safe.

Often sit in an old empty restaraunt (the old Gobbler) parking lot and watch people coming off interstate, coming in from the north behind the mall, coming over the hill from Hwy 26, and coming out of town for speeding. Often sit with other officers in cars parked opposite ways so they can talk. Many times parked so you don’t suspect them, near the park and ride.

Driving south on Highway 26, coming around the curve after the BP station before the two lanes merge into one. The speed limit goes from 45 to 55 and people are jockeying to get position before the merge. Cop was sitting on the street (South St) right after the BP station and nailed me with laser so my detector didn’t have a chance. There were plenty of cars around me going 60-65 in anticipation of the speed change, but I was the one that got nailed.
