Highway 51 North — halfway between Merrill and Tomahawk

Merrill, WisconsinDec 27, 20130 Comments

State Patrol often sits in the median passing through Irma. Car sits in the median right beyond a hill, so northbound travelers often times do not see him as he sits right over the hill. I always see them clocking northbound travelers, more often Thursdays through Sundays, a way to catch the vacationers on the way to their cabins for weekend trips.

County Hwy. G just east of Center Ave.

Merrill, WisconsinDec 13, 20120 Comments

Driving from east to west on G, the speed limit drops from 55 to 35 and then 25 near Memorial Drive. Squad cars park in the first two driveways west of Center Avenue watching for speeders.

South Center Ave (Hwy K)

Merrill, WisconsinMar 08, 20120 Comments

Leaving downtown Merrill going south over the bridge is sharply downhill grade, then road widens to 2 soutbound lanes immediately off of the bridge. Speed limit is 25, and doesn’t go up to 35 until over the hill past the hospital. DO NOT SPEED UP going down the bridge, or immediately off of the bridge. Merrill cop will pull you over for 28mph and up! Cop sits up on the hill near the hospital, overlooking the bridge and South Center Ave (Hwy K)

Center Ave. approaching bridge over Wisconsin River

Merrill, WisconsinOct 04, 20100 Comments

This a hill on Center Ave south of the bridge over the Wisconsin River. The speed limit is 25mph and hill makes it difficult to obey the limit without applying brakes. The cops sit west on Riverside Ave. out sight behind the Riverside Athletic Club. Also watch out on the north side of the bridge too.

Wi-64 through town on east side

Merrill, WisconsinMar 11, 20101 Comments

When traveling west on wi-64 into Merrill, be careful where the limit drops from 35 to 25 at KWIK TRIP. The road remains 2 lanes each way but the limit drops 10mph.
