Pittsville, Wisconsin Speed Traps

This town is a speed trap and there is a local yokel who frequently is running radar, especially where the speed limit slows to 25. However, they will run the radar anywhere in their town. Also watch the 45 speed limit on the outskirts.

County trunk E runs west out of town. Pittsville police likes to sit in the bank parking lot and gun you down CTY E. Speed limit is 25, usually they give you a pretty good break. They normally don’t stop you unless you are doing 15+ in this area.

Half way between Marshfield & Wisconsin Rapids, is the small town of Pittsville. The posted speed limit is 45 MPH when going though this town, for about 1 mile. Be sur eot slow down. At the intersection there is a gas station, and city of Pittsville police, county sherrif, and state troopers all like to sit there. More so at night than day, but there is usally enforcement there. The slow zone is marked be flashing amber lights, on hwy 13 North and south bounds. It is a good idea to slow down to 45 mph when you hit the lights. The state trooper are pretty decent to deal with, but the city of Pittsville is not as nice.
