south on 164 from Silver Spring (vv) to Capitol Drive

Sussex, WisconsinAug 17, 20110 Comments

If you can see the Sussex water tower while driving on 164, I guarantee there are cops waiting for you. The first spot is southbound 164, there is an entrance to a subdivision on the left side of the road before the water tower, and cops always sit directly across from that entrance. Then as soon as you pass the tower, cops will sit in the median on the little hill downgrade there (with lights off). They also sit in the entrance to the industrial business park on the left. Once you go through the lights at the intersection of K and 164, watch out, because just over the hill, there will be a cop to the right, hiding behind trees in the entrance to the subdivision. Also, further south along the bend past Lindsey Rd, they sit in the entrance to the condos, with their roof at street level.

They’re here regularly. On Highway 164, about 1/2 mile south of Main Street, or V V or Silver Spring Road, on the west side of 164. Hard to see them until they get you.

State HYW 164 From Sussex to State HYW 190

Sussex, WisconsinMar 17, 20101 Comments

Since the state in it’s infinite ignorance changed HYW 164 from a 2 lane, 55 mph to a 4 lane divided they dropped the speed limit to 45 mph. Now Waukesha County increases it’s income along this entire stretch. You can find them night and day in the medians, on the shoulders, dead end turnouts, and subdivision drives. If you see one don’t assume you won’t find another farther down the road laying in wait.

45 dips to 35, and there are cops who hide just over the hill going to 35. Also, a big trap is a 1/4 mile down the road where an officer will hide behind an old barn. County sherrifs and Lisbon officers WILL NOT hesitate to pull you over and WILL NOT let you off with a warning.
