Watertown, Wisconsin Speed Traps

Divided bypass highway with 45 mph speed limit. Pulled over at 0845am by city police officer. Written for 61 in a 45. Both officer and I remained professional and polite. Writing me for 61 seemed a little harsh and indicative of a speed trap.

Milford Street’s (County Trunk Highway A)posted speed limits change from 55 MPH to 25 MPH in very fast increments. Traffic enforcement is a high priority for the local police on all streets! Fortunately, the city attorney reduced the speed on my traffic ticket, which saved me a few points.

The cop sits at the gas station and clocks you heading north coming up the hill.

A few miles east of Watertown on highway 16 right before it becomes a 2 lane road the sherriff is usually sitting there clocking people at around 5pm, I have noticed this has been very frequent lately on 16 usually 5 days a week.
