Byron, Wyoming Speed Traps
14A East from Cody
Speed limit drops from 65 to 30. The cop said, “you didnt slow down fast enough.” You’re supposed to lock up the brakes the second you see the sign, I suppose. The route is gorgeous as it takes you through the Big Horn Mountains but this little town gives the scenic route a bad name. They may as well charge you a $100 fee to drive it.
Byron , Wyoming, coming out of Big Horn, Mtns.
Coming out of Big Horn Mtns speed limit 65 – drops to 30 before your brakes can get you to 30 -you’ve got a ticket..we were down to 43..Not another car on the street!! Told all our friends stay away from Byron, WY
West or East side of Byron
The speed limit drops to 30 miles an hour long before you enter the divided highway that passes through Byron’s main street. They have a new cop now and he is out to pay for his keep. He will tell you that speeding laws are for the safety of the children. But it is nothing but a source of revenue for the town. Byron used to be a pretty little town, it is now a town that you want to avoid if at all possible
Entering Byron from the West on Highway 14A
Single police pickup truck, dark blue. Immediately after second 30 MPH sign. Signs are firmly close together following a 65 MPH highway speed. No intermediate speed reduction levels (e.g. 45 or 40).
Byron, WY
The speed drops rapidly from 65 to 30 with some warning but hidden in the scrub. The policeman was polite, but failed to confirm the car we were driving, which belonged to our friends. He did not question them about the auto, only gave us the ticket. OH yes this is a speed trap.
