City Police in Brazoria are devoting 100 percent of their time during school zones hours to sitting in these school zones watching for speeders. On SH 332/521, they will sit in a parking lot next to a pavilion/park/caboose exhibit facing westbound traffic entering the school zone… they have this particular school zone stretched out until 9am mornings/4:30pm evening. On the SH 36 school zone by West Brazos Junior High, they will sit in the parking lot of a convenience store (Super Stop) facing southbound traffic towards the end of the school zone.

City Cops lurk around the Brazoria library building at 620 S. Brooks. They may be one or two blocks up or down from library. They use a small used car dealer, a vehicle inspection station, and a church parking lot for cover. Revenues are down for the city, so the police are looking hard for tickets.

SH 36 / Brooks Street

Speed limit lowers from 65 to 55, then 45 (still in the middle of nowhere), then down to 35 and 30 by the time you reach development. Limit increases to 35 past Gaines Street but stays 35 well after the "City ends", goes up to 45, then finally 55 two-and-a-half miles from ther center of town. City cops will find bogus reasons to pull you over (ie: "looking like youre speeding, when they didn’t clock you…I was gong just under the speed limit when one pulled me over)
