From the school zone east of Spring Hill constantly patrol by highway patrol county and city. 50 miles an hour it is a honey hole for them

W Loop 281 near Hwy 31 intersection

Longview, TexasOct 11, 20150 Comments

Heading W on Loop 281, speed drops from 55 to 40 MPH. Naturally, Longview’s finest hangs out just past the drop awaiting customers. The locals probably know this: Hard-working construction workers and other commuters won’t. No slack is given.

Blue Ridge Parkway headed towards Gilmer Road

Longview, TexasMay 15, 20130 Comments

On Blue Ridge Parkway from Bill Owens road you will come to the only stop sign on this road at the bottom of a hill. When you pass through the stop sign and go up the hill on the other side don’t be speeding when you top the hill. A cop sits in a driveway on the opposite side of the road several hundred feet away from the top of the hill. He’ll clock you before you even see him.

SH322 between intersections with SH149 and SH349 in Lakeport

Longview, TexasJun 08, 20110 Comments

2 mile stretch from SH149 (Estes Parkway) to SH349; heavily patrolled. Speed drops from 65-55; cops up and down this stretch all day. 3-person City of Lakeport PD has 4 new Chargers, paid for with DHS grants & ticket revenue. NOTORIOUS.

North McCann St near post office

Longview, TexasJun 11, 20100 Comments

There usually is a Longview city cop sitting either in the church parking lot or the fire station both of which face the post office. The speed limit changes from 50 to 40 and alot of people, including me, missed it.
