State Highway 43 near Town   Tatum, Texas

At the bottom of the hill on the West side of Tatum on Hwy 43 sits on the south side of the road not visable to traffic until its too late, city police car with radar. This is coming in from Henderson about 1/2 mile west of Tatum. Have not been stopped but observed him sitting there on many trips through Tatum. Locals tell us its a speed trap.

State Highway 43 near State Highway 3231   Tatum, Texas

No Reduce Speed Limit sign. Speed limit goes from 70 to 55 just at bottom of the hill (a considerable distance from town) and cops are always sitting just on other side of the hill with radar.

State Highway 43   Tatum, Texas

Town is no bigger than a postage stamp. 70mph posted on the highway. The Tatum officer assured me reduced speed limit sign was posted, but I did not see. As soon as you enter town from the south there is a sharp downhill. Police sit at bottom of hill. If you did see the alleged reduced speed sign you may not be able to slow down quick enough to avoid detection due to hill.
