Lyndonville, Vermont Speed Traps
Route 5 Near Calendar Brook Road
County sheriffs are taking advantage of a “construction” zone (the actual work is being done on the bridge over the Passumpsic, traffic is constrained to one lane on the bridge controlled by temporary stop lights on either end). Signage begins about 1.5 miles from the actual work zone, and signs closer to the work zone show a “30 MPH” with a big arrow implying that is the speed limit through the actual “work zone” ahead, so they are cashing in on locals and out-of-towners.
County Trunk Back near INTERSECTION Road
POLICE ARE LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF RT 5 AND THE BACK CENTER ROAD. MOTORCYCLES ARE OF INTEREST.
Red Village Rd/Brown Farm Rd
One of the newbie State Troopers parks off Red Village Rd on Brown Farm Rd behind a house and nails you as you come up over the rise and around the slight bend. This is a rural, open road but for some reason the limit is 35 mph through there. Jr. nailed me Saturday AM and has gotten my sister in law there as well (so I found out).
I-91 South Rest area
Troopers from St. Johnsbury troop will be at the rest area in abundance. Of course more than needed. Usually on Sunday afternoons catching the out of Staters heading home after their visit to the Northeast Kingdom. A trooper will be standing with a radar gun, and another will run into the middle of the interstate risking his foolish life to stop you.
