State Highway Rt 30 near Main Street   Middlebury, Vermont

Heading towards Middlebury College in either direction on Rt 30, the local police like to poach for tickets by either parking their cars at the top of the hill (near the golf course) or near the center of town (next to the intersection of S. Main Street and Rt 30). They will typically try to nab speeders on the weekends (Saturday morning) or during week days (2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.). The speed limit coming into Middlebury from Cornwall on Rt 30 goes from 50 m.p.h. to 25 m.p.h. as soon as one passes the golf course entrance. If you have a radar detector, you'll be able to catch the signal. However, they've been using laser traps within the last three months to catch unsuspecting drivers.

I-89 between Exits 4 and 5 Northbound   Middlebury, Vermont

Using U-Turn in the middle of a left-hand downhill curve. Very lenient, clocked twice between 80 and 85 in one month. (Different cars) May not always be so nice.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
