Magnolia, Mississippi Speed Traps
Hwy 48
From I 55 at Exit # 10 going East into town, from the City Limits at the top of the hill for appx 1 mile,;local officers set up radar anywhere along that stretch. The Chief (an elected official)has been known to state that that area is mostly "out-of-towners" and should be ticketed.
Hwy 48 East from City Limits to the Little Tangipahoa
Coming downhill westbound into town you are in a heavily enforced speed zone, all the way to the bridge over the Little Tangipahoa river. The (elected)Chief encourages his officers to write "out-of-towners" for revenue purposes
Hwy 51 Northbound from (South) City Limits
(Elected) Chief encourages his officers to write "out-of-towners’ at any chance.Hwy 51 has many small side streets and brush that the officers like to hide in.Be very aware when operating in this place.
Quinlivan Rd (Eastbound) into town
(Elected) Chief encourages his officers to write "out-of-towners’ at any chance.WHen Quinlivan Rd enters the town the speed drops AT ONCE from 45 to 25 and the locals miss no chance to write anyone they see. There is also a series of 4 way stops,at EVERY block in this stretch that are enforced. This is a dangerous town to "pass through".
Hamp-Lea Rd from I-55 bridge
(Elected) Chief encourages his officers to write "out-of-towners’ at any chance. This rd from I-55 to the intersection w/Hwy 48 is a bad area for any one going even 1 mph over the posted speed.
