I-90 E (Masspike) Approaching Westfield Exit #3   Russell, Massachusetts

As you are traveling east on the Masspike toward Springfield, you will encounter a long downhill run (4+ miles) after the Blandford Plaza culminating with an emergency truck ramp. As you cross the bridge over the Westfield river after that ramp LOOK OUT! Almost every evening during the PM rush state troopers either single (rarely) or multiple (2,3 or 4 cruisers) will be waiting on the right side of the road in a small turnoff that is impossible to spot until you are on it. If it is a multiple trooper operation, one crusier tags you with the radar and the others pick you up 1/2 to 3/4 mile down the road. What makes this trap work so well is all of the people tired of riding their brakes down the big hill loosen up and run at 70-75 in the 65 zone. These troopers are serious, they will ticket for 69 in the 65. Be careful.

Speeding Tickets

Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
