Old Spanish Trail east of Ladnier

Crossing Ladnier, the speed drops from 40 to 30 for no apparent reason, except for the three police cars near the curve in this two lane back road. They were stopping people in both directions.

U.S. Hwy. 90 Between Dolphin Dr. and SR 57

This is a long straight stretch (about 3-4 miles) that just got repaved and the speed limit Used to be 55 all the way to Ocean Springs. It’s not anymore, the city dropped it to 45, and GPD takes full advantage of this, every day. Motorcycle units will sit in the 2 or 3 crossover areas on the road and you really can’t see them until it’s too late. But… there are lots of fast & aggressive drivers on this road, and the cops pretty much have their work cut out for them. Stay in the right lane, keep it under 50 and you should be OK.

In the curve just past the condos on Martin Bluff at Cotita Drive a policeman sits at the end of the street in the undeveloped little subdivision.

Gautier-Vancleave Rd. just North of I-10

Gautier, MississippiApr 10, 20100 Comments

From I-10 going North it’s only about a mile to the city limits. They will usually park in the entrance to the Sandhill Crane Preserve and zap vehicles going South. This one spot is responsible for a substantial amount of the city’s revenue. Always slow to 40 and cheat them out of a fine.

Gautier Vancleave Road between I-10 and U.S. Hwy. 90

The speed limit drops from 55 to 45 in the straight away just below the interstate. As you go around the bend just past the first speed limit sign you see there are a few really good hiding places that Gautier police use a lot. About midway between I-10 and U.S. Hwy. 90 is a school zone and I have yet to see a day without at least 2 people pulled over getting tickets at any given time. This is a good road to get a ticket on any time of day or night.
