Picayune, Mississippi Speed Traps
Hwy 11 South – Picayune Corp. City Limits Line
If you are headed North on Hwy 11, just before you get to the MS National Guard Armory, there is a church on the right where they hide right alongside the treeline under some oak trees in that parking lot. When you come along side the clearing of the church parking lot and treeline, they got you. The only sign that designates the speed of 45 MPH is roughly 20 feet before this clearing and treeline edge. They are usually there in the early AM and around lunchtime.
Telly Road
20 mph speed limit. Any road you turn from onto Telly Road is 35 mph, but the speed is reduced on Telly Road and the first sign is several blocks after you are on the road. It is a money maker for the city of Picayune – not a public safety issue. And don’t try to go to court – home cooking local politics at its best.
