US Highway 30 near Mile Marker 36   Deer Island, Oregon

Heading East the state trooper shoots from the left side of the highway just after the curve. I used to live at the farm on the right side of the road in 1985-86 and I saw many bad accidents caused by peopleslamming into the car ahead of them when they would hit the brakes to avoid a ticket. On the 3rd of July I rounded the bend doing the limit and came across 5 motorcyclists in the right hand ditch. I had to swerve left to avoid them. I then noticed a state trooper completetly blocking my lane and part of the left lane as he was trying to make a U turn on the curve. I slowed, and came to a safe stop but the man behind me was looking at the motorcyclists accident and when I looked in my mirror I saw him coming at 60 MPH with no sings of slowing, so I gassed my Plymouth Grand Voyager and got up to 25 MPH before the Ford Ranger hit us at about 50 MPH. Both our vehicles where totaled completely. Mine sustained a crumpled frame and left side from rear to nose, the Ranger's right side frontended up under the passenger compartment. As it turned out the cop had caused the motorcyclist to lay his bike down just minutes before and he was re-possitioning his car to shoot radar from the same spot when we almost hit him, and did get smashed by the Ranger.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
