Oakton Street near Elmhurst + Mt. Prospect Road
This mile long Portion of Oakton street has a speed limit of 40. I have seen police cars in the wal-mart parking lot and down a couple of the side streets. It is easy to not realize that you are at 50 or 55 mph when driving on this part of Oakton. There are only 4 side street junctions on the north side of Oakton, plus a sidewalk that is a good ten feet from the curb. On the southbound side, There is only a trucking company and a wal-mart entrance onto Oakton. There is rarely alot of traffic on this part of Oakton. They are usually there from 5 o’clock to 10 o’clock.
Wolf Road near Dempster/ Thacker Street
In between a curve and a Railroad crossing, there is a parking lot for a park where cops sit with radar in hand. It is a four lane roadway with a 35 mph speed limit. A lot of high school kids drive this route to and from school. If it looks like a high school kid driving, and the radar reads over 35, they will ticket them. They also sometimes sit on the side streets norht of the railroad tracks.
