Greenville, Illinois Speed Traps
On I-70 Usually between Mulberry Grove and Pocahontas
Usually Two County Deputies in unmarked blue or silver cars. Occasional State Police as well.
I-70 Mile Marker 47- Bond County IL
County Sheriff monitors interstate 70 near mile marker 47, in a “construction zone”. When you get pulled over for doing 70mph in a 45mph, he is quick to say that he will drop the speeding in a construction zone and just write the ticket for 15 over “to save you money”. He writes tickets very quickly- didn’t even ask for proof of insurance, as I am certain he does not like being away from his favorite “trap” for too long.
I-70 passing through Bond County
You are at risk anywhere in Bond County, basically from Exit 36 (Pocahontas) to Exit 52 (Mulberry Grove). Sometimes they use marked cars, other times unmarked. The grass is cut in the median all along I-70 except through Bond County, to give more advantage to the ticket writers.
I-70 exit 45
County sheriffs vehicles are parked in the median near a poorly marked construction zone. The speed drops before you get to exit 45.
