Kingston, Tennessee Speed Traps
mile 363 on I40w in roane county, tn
trooper sits in low grassy area on westbound side, grass is worn down from tracks so it appears to be used regularly
I-40 Eastbound
State troopers sit on the eastbound entrance ramps at 360 (Buttermilk Rd) and 362 (the exit for the industrial park). You won’t be able to see them until they have already clocked you. My advice: slow down after you pass exit 356 (Gallaher Road) and stick to the speed limit until you pass exit 364 (Lenior City/ Oak Ridge) After that, smooth sailing until you hit Knoxville. These traps are especially active around 7:00am to 7:45am Monday- Friday. I saw them there at least twice a week, when I was going in to work.
Old Hood Landing Lane near State Highway 58
Old Hood Landing is a very narrow lane with close, heavily wooded forests near the road. Just after you pass the nudist colony on the left and before you get to Judge Humphrey’s estate is a blind curve where local police have been known to lie in wait for speeders.
