Cross Lanes, West Virginia Speed Traps
Intersection of Rt. 622 and Camp Virgil Tate road.
Officers often sit near this intersection. They usually don’t ticket you unless you are driving ten mph above the posted 35 mph limit but that limit is FAR TOO LOW for this section of generously wide, gently curving open country highway. The speed limit was 40 mph when it was a one lane road 40+ years ago. There’s no excuse for it not being 55 mph here today.
West Bound I 64 near the exit
State Police sits in the down hill curv, and is very well hidden.
He stops every one! inculding other public servents.
Then for a change of pace goes to west bound in the curv from Nitro going up to the Dod Track.
State Route 62 near Lake Chaweva
Sheriff’s Department posts a car at a church directly across the street from the Union Public Service building and the Old English Apartments. The police officer will either sit back in the parking lot or will sit horizontal with the Little Tyler.

Big Tyler Road near Koontz Drive
Sheriff’s Department posts a car at the driveway of the Volunteer Fire Dept. There is a slight road curve so that you do not see the car until it may be too late.
