Every Road

All throughout Dearborn Heights ticket writing has increased and will most likely continue because the officers are being offered overtime pay for writing a minimum number of tickets. That’s right, an incentive for them to write tickets. Sounds like crime rates must be low right? Ha.

Took Gulley Road south. When I reached the second stop sign, I stopped, but did not come to a full dead stop. Got pulled over and given a ticket which amounted to $100. Since I had an excellent driving record, I could pay the fine and nothing would go on my record. That was an additional $30. This is really funny because I have 2 stop signs in front of my house and on a daily basis, the Dearborn Heights police run both stop signs. Do as I say - not as I do.

I grew up in DH and I'm wondering - does the police academy teach DH cops to be rude or do they just "pick it up" with their on-the-job training? Because I am a good citizen and a nice-looking woman (white) but every time I talk to a DH police officer they are rude, unless it was someone I knew from high school. So I know it's not racism. I've seen other similar comments on this site and my family agrees.
