Just West of Laurel on I-59 Northbound
The speed limit drops from 70 to 50 just before you enter Laurel and the city of Laurel police sit in a hidden location just past the reduce speed sign and trap you before you can slow down.

This is definitely a speed trap. They got me for 76 in a 50. Had it on cruise control what I thought was 75. Must have missed the sign which is easy to do if you are looking in mirrors or changing lanes or doing anything else you might be doing in a car....not texting or telephoning! I was headed east bound just west of Laurel as well. It was 8:30 in the morning and the officer showed me that I wasn't the first and said I wasn't the fastest. He already had about 20 tickets in his book that he quickly flipped like a deck of cards when showing me. At least the officer was fairly nice. Nothing against him, he's just doing the job he was told to do. So yeah, money making speed trap for them. No construction going on, just a drop in speed on the interstate by 20MPH. In Tennessee the speed drops to 60 when construction workers are present. Strange that it drops to 50 here for no good reason. The no good reason is a speed trap....period.
