State Highway 120 near Rock Round Corral

Jamestown, CaliforniaOct 09, 20072 Comments

Headed East toward Sonora, on Highway 120 just after the Yosemite turn off where 120/108 split, there is a hill with a passing lane. Just over the crest of the hill, the two lanes merge again. People passing slower traffic crest the hill, seeing the lanes are about to merge, speed up to complete their pass of the slower vehicle, only to find a CHP hiding off to the side of the highway, ready to write a ticket.

Comments:
Foothill/mountain driving is not the same as driving in the city. People who don't live here don't understand. You can't be in a hurry. You will just meet up with whoever you passed at the next stoplight anyway...

There is almost always a cop there on the other side. Just hurry up and pass and then get in slow lane and slow down and you will be fine. 55 mph here.
