Berner Road near Summit Street

Elgin, IllinoisAug 29, 20071 Comments

Berner Road is 25 miles an hour (should be 30-35 based on other similar thoroughfares). Police will park in the parking lot for the Elgin Church of the Nazarene and trap motorists driving South on Berner to Summit (Route 58). I’m a church member and see this at least twice a month (when you’re only there 2 days a week, that’s a lot of sightings!)

Comments:
I live on Berner and especially during rush hour not a few, but everyone is speeding. The worst violators seem to be school buses. In my opinion, a speed limit sign is not an arbitrary suggestion, even if someone believes it should be different. This is a horse community, with lots of horses crossing the road and also lots of deer. If you use Berner road as a shortcut, respect the speed limit, otherwise maybe you should find an alternative.
