Route 66
The town of Arcadia is cut by Route 66, and occupies approximately 1 mile of the highway. Upon entering the town the speed limit drops from 65 to 25 mph in about 1/4 of a mile. Cops are always rampant, but concentrations have seen the ENTIRE Arcadia police force of 6 cruisers working the 1 mile stretch.

I agree that Arcadia is one of the worst speed traps, but lets stick to the facts. The speed limit in town drops from 55 to 45. Perhaps this has improved since this original posting in 2001. Regardless, a minor fraction of speed over the limit will result in a huge ticket. It is preposterous. Most of the "speeders" are vacationers just passing through, and would not have the opportunity or inclination to complain or fight the ticket.
No where in Oklahoma County along SH-66 is the speed limit above 55mph. The signs are clearly marked and they do mean what they say, "Strictly Enforced". I am not one to post anything racially motivated but the police (ticket writers) are all African American and when you show up in Ardadia's kangaroo court, all the people with the tickets are English American. If that is not racial profiling, I don't know what is. If you stay between 40mph to 44mph, you won't have anything to worry about unless you have a light out or something of that nature.
